About the Canberra Printmakers

The Canberra Printmakers is a group of professional exhibiting printmakers, living and working in or around Canberra and the ACT.

The group was founded in 2025 by a collective of emerging and mid-career printmakers, with the aim of pooling our expertise, time and money to enable us to put on larger and more ambitious exhibitions and projects than we could manage individually, and to support, promote and expand each others practices.

We are not a print studio; instead, we each run our own private studios, or make use of the wonderful facilities at Megalo Print Studio.

How our membership works

  • The Canberra Printmakers is comprised of 30 members, with 25 positions allocated to artists living and working in the Canberra Region (as defined here), and 5 positions allocated to artists living outside the Region

  • Members pay a membership fee of $120 per year

  • The members who live within the borders of the ACT region must attend at least two meetings a year, while the out-of-area members must attend at least one

  • Meetings are held quarterly, on:

    • the first Sunday of March

    • the first Sunday of June

    • the second Sunday of September

    • the first Sunday of December

  • Members are expected to contribute to the administration of exhibitions/projects, to ensure the administrative load remains equitable and doesn’t become burdensome

  • Members are expected to pay additional fees towards the cost of some projects or exhibitions. These vary from project to project, but will always be discussed and voted on by the group so they will never be unexpected
